The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) is a government-funded program designed to support employers in Ontario who are looking to train and develop their workforce. Whether you're investing in your current team or preparing new hires to meet the demands of your industry, this program can help reduce training costs and make skills development more accessible.
Through the COJG, employers can receive funding to offset the cost of short-term training delivered by eligible third-party providers, such as colleges, private trainers, or industry associations. The grant helps cover a range of expenses, including tuition, textbooks, training materials, and some mandatory student or exam fees. In many cases, employers could receive up to $10,000 per employee to support their training efforts.
The goal of the program is to ensure businesses across Ontario—especially small and medium-sized enterprises—can access the training they need to stay competitive, while also creating opportunities for employees to grow in their roles. By lowering the financial barrier to high-quality training, COJG empowers businesses to improve productivity, retain talent, and fill skill gaps.
However, it’s important to note that not all employers or training programs are eligible for funding. The amount of funding you may receive depends on several factors, including the size of your business and the type of training involved. That’s why we strongly recommend speaking with our team to explore whether this program is the right fit for your goals.
Our Employment Ontario Centre is here to guide you every step of the way. We’ll start by learning more about your training needs, help you determine your eligibility, and assist with preparing and submitting your application—so you can focus on what matters: growing your team.
